The
enlargement of
the European Union
will put as face
to a greater challenge
than ever before.
We will want to
integrate more
than 100.Mio people
from the central
and eastern European
countries and
we need their
support for constructing
a competitive,
modern, truly
European society.
Right now, the
enlargement procedure
is rather a business
between governments.
Vienna Platform
tries to involve
the people on
the basis through
the grassroot
organisations
in the candidate
countries. We
need the skills
of all Europeans
to face the challenge
of globalisation,
but that means
that we should
all have the same
knowledge about
what is going
on in EU, what
the political
goals are and
where we want
to go together.
